Last Thursday was a night of protest in our hometown of Little Village. This year marks 200 years of Mexico's independence from Spain and even now we are still fighting to keep what's ours. La Villita se defiende, no se vende. We loved the turn out. Although aggressive we maintained the peace with all the animosity in the air.

It was a proud moment for those of us who live here to see our community come together to fight to keep our culture our good culture. The culture that raised us to overcome all obstacles and to help those that need it. íViva Mexico, y Viva todo Latino-America!
