This is exactly the skill we’re teaching our teens in our career readiness workshop!

Right now, there are dozens of videos in your feed, thousands of likes and views each, teaching you how to answer “tell me about yourself.” Most of them coach you to open with your name, your title, and your years, all of it already sitting on the resume in the interviewer’s hand. That is the most valuable sixty seconds of the interview, and it sets the lens for every answer after. Spend it repeating what they already know, and you decrease your probability of being the selected candidate because you did nothing to differentiate yourself. What you just watched gives you the pattern.
