“All you can ask of life is to love and be loved”
Truman Garcia Balboa was born August 28, 2000 among the beautiful rose fields of Florence, Arizona. He joined Angela and Lyn Snow one afternoon, and Lyn took one look and called him Truman. They eventually moved to the scenic waterfronts of SE Alaska, and then to Chicago.
Truman eventually retired back in Chandler, Arizona.
Truman was a man of many hats, family man, working man, musician, comedian and cook. He had several careers throughout his life including Chicago alley maintenance, drywaller, A/V installation, mechanic, sous chef, story teller, zen Buddhist, and Latin jazz fusion percussion with band “El Hombres”. Truman was known to help his friends in any occasion and bailed out his dear friend, Trixibelle Anderson, on more than one occasion.
Truman also enjoyed travel and made his way across the states several times demanding to ride in Captain’s seat. He was steady and grand travel mate that enjoyed roadside attractions in particular the Glenrio ghost town, the Mississippi river, and forests of the Pacific Northwest.
It has been said Truman is the single most magnificent collection of fur and spirit molecules ever assembled in this universe, and he was.
He was friend to all.

It is with heavy hearts we write to tell the of the passing of Trixy on March, 6th, 2017. Trixy came from humble origins born in a chicken coop in Guadalupe, Az. She was born according to her owners “On the day of our country's sorrow 9/11/2001”. At a very early age she met her friends Angela Snow, and Truman Garcia Balboa. The three eventually moved to Ketchikan, Ak, where they lived along the beautiful Alaskan waterfronts. The three eventually settled down with Don Hupp in Chicago from 2005 to 2017.
Trixy was fiercely loyal, and not afraid of anything. She was willing to stand up to horses, schnauzers, and pug dogs. She loved hackey sack, extra large heat pads, laying out in a full sprint, Chris Robinson and the Black Crowes, and mouthing her babies (stuffed animals). She was a ready and steady travel mate having crossed the continent on many occasions. She particularly loved driving Route 66 from Arizona to Chicago, and the many small town attractions along the way.
She routinely volunteered for in house nursing for those in need helping us though ovarian cancer, broken bones, mental breakdowns, moral support, and unconditional love on every front. She has been home waiting for us after tastings at least 1089 times over the last 12 years, and today will be the last.
She will always be part of the Que Syrah family, and in our hearts and minds forever.
You will be missed sweet lady dog,
Don & Angela
