Girls 4 Science Announces Exciting Summer 2026 Opportunities: Summer Social Featuring College Admissions Author Oriah Hill June 13th & Engineering Academy Launching July 11

CHICAGO, IL – Girls 4 Science (G4S), a nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing girls ages 10-18 to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), is excited to announce two major summer opportunities designed to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of female leaders in STEM.

Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and college readiness experiences, Girls 4 Science continues its mission of helping young women build confidence, expand career possibilities, and pursue their dreams.

This summer, Girls 4 Science will launch its highly anticipated Engineering Academy, beginning July 11, 2026. The six-week program will immerse participants in the exciting world of engineering through hands-on projects, collaborative problem-solving, and exposure to engineering careers. Students will explore how engineering impacts everyday life while developing critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Girls 4 Science programs are intentionally designed to increase STEM confidence and create pathways to future careers. The organization has served more than 500 Chicago-area girls, with participants reporting increased confidence in science and math and a stronger interest in pursuing STEM-related fields.

“Engineering is all around us—from the buildings we live in to the technology we use every day,” said Jackie Lomax, G4S Founder. “Our goal is to help girls see themselves as innovators, creators, and future engineers who can solve real-world challenges.”

Girls 4 Science will host its 2026 Alumnae & High School Student Summer Social on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Olive-Harvey College in Chicago.

The special event will feature Oriah Hill, author of the book Accepted! The College Application Blueprint. Hill will share valuable insights on navigating the college admissions process, securing scholarships, and preparing for success after high school.

This event is designed for current high school students and G4S alumni who want to strengthen their college planning strategies, connect with peers, and gain practical advice from a recent college graduate who successfully navigated the admissions journey.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

-Learn college application strategies
-Discover scholarship opportunities
-Network with fellow students and alumnae
-Ask questions about the college admissions process
-Gain inspiration for their academic and professional futures

Girls 4 Science remains committed to making STEM accessible, engaging, and empowering for girls throughout Chicago. By combining hands-on STEM education with college and career readiness opportunities, the organization helps participants build the confidence and skills necessary to thrive in traditionally underrepresented fields.

Families interested in the Summer Engineering Academy or the Summer Social are encouraged to learn more and register through the official Girls 4 Science website: girls4science.org
