Listen out to the story of a persecuted refugee who fled to India from Pakistan, now he is protected by India's CAA laws. There are more than 30000 like him still living in refugee camps and waiting for CAA implementation to get a new dignified life.

Dear Indian Americans of Chicago,

It is very alarming to see how the Chicago city council is considering passing a highly polarizing resolution that is talking about India and its internal politics.
South Asian community might have their own differences due to multiple reasons (eg: Kashmir, 370, CAA, etc.). Still, they live together peacefully in the US and never bring their personal South Asian conflicts into their lives. However, the resolution R2020-583 (and SO2020-583) sponsored by Alderwomen Maria Hadden of Ward 49 of Chicago talks about all these issues based on unfounded facts and half-truths. As a result, it is polarizing the South Asian community by bringing South Asian conflicts into the Chicago city council.

This resolution is coming to vote in the upcoming Chicago city meeting on March 24th, 2021. The Indian American community is highly furious about this superficial and divisive resolution which might look benign in its title; however, the devil resides in detail.
Chicago Indian American community should come forward and contact their local Alderman/Alderwoman to stop this resolution immediately and urge them to focus on fixing local issues of Chicago.

Contact to find your alderman/alderman:

Thanks
A concerned Chicago resident.
