July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental health matters for everyone, but not everyone has equal access to care or feels equally represented in the mental health system.

Cultural experiences, discrimination, stigma, language barriers, and limited access to care can all impact how—and whether—someone seeks support. That's why culturally responsive, compassionate care is so important.

At Calm Mind Counseling Center, we believe everyone deserves a space where they feel seen, heard, and respected. Healing begins when people can show up as their authentic selves without fear of judgment.

Wishing you a safe, peaceful, and meaningful holiday. ❤️🤍💙

✨ Meet the Team ✨

We’re excited to introduce Kurtis Klein!

With a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Loyola University, he is passionate about helping adolescents and young adults navigate life’s transitions with confidence and support. His approach combines person-centered care, CBT, narrative therapy, and psychoeducation to create a safe, understanding space where clients can grow at their own pace.

Whether working through anxiety, trauma, or major life changes, he believes therapy should feel collaborative, empowering, and uniquely tailored to each individual.

Outside the office, you can find him enjoying fantasy fiction, board game nights, weightlifting, and spending quality time with loved ones. Fun fact: he previously trained as a competitive powerlifter!

We’re so grateful to have him on our team!

Pride is about authenticity, community, and being seen for who you are. 🌈

But for many LGBTQ+ individuals, mental health challenges can be intensified by discrimination, rejection, isolation, or feeling unsafe to fully express themselves.

At CMCC, we believe everyone deserves access to affirming, compassionate mental health support and spaces where they feel heard, respected, and valued.

Your identity is valid.
Your feelings matter.
And you deserve support that honors all of who you are.

This Pride Month, let’s continue creating safer spaces for healing, connection, and acceptance. 💚
