You never even seen the policy, but you are definitely paying for it lol. They are not designed to pay out.

1. You don't own it, the company does. It's theirs, not yours. It's a tax write-off for them.

2. It is group insurance so it's not specifically tailored to you and your family's needs.

3. There are provisions/limitations/exceptions to those policies that state under what circumstances that policy would actually pay out if you die, but you wouldn't know because you never saw it, never asked, and they are not obligated to show you.
For example:
-Don't die on your day off or when you clock out
-Don't die from COVID
-Don't die while on FMLA
-Don't die while on vacation
-Don't die outside of your work vehicle if that is the nature of the job

4. They can change the policy or get rid of it at any time without you even knowing.

5. You are no longer insured if you leave the job or they let you go.

6. Military insurance is the same as on the job group insurance. The government owns those policies, not you.

So, what makes you think they will pay your family more money when you are gone?? They use it to find a new you! PLUS, it's not their responsibility to take care of your family but yours alone. 🤯

Don't matter how much you love your job, they will never love you back. It's business!

If your family depends on your income, then YOU NEED YOUR OWN POLICY. Period.

And make sure it's the RIGHT KIND. Just getting anything to say you got it is reckless.
