Mazal Tov Nitzvim Class of 5786 🌾✨
This Shabbat, as we also celebrate Shavuot—our Festival of Revelation, we joyfully honor our Nitzvim Confirmation graduates.
Nitzvim—“those who stand”—is such a fitting name. You stand today at an important threshold: rooted in the Jewish story, strengthened by learning, and now stepping forward with your own voices, questions, and commitments.
In the Reform Jewish spirit, confirmation is not an ending but an unfolding. Torah is not only what we received at Sinai—it is what you continue to shape through how you live, think, challenge, and care for the world.
As you stand before your community this Shabbat, we celebrate not just what you have learned, but who you are becoming: thoughtful Jews, compassionate people, and emerging leaders.
May you continue to stand tall in wisdom, courage, and kindness.

Erev Shavuot 🌾✨
As the sun sets this evening, we enter Erev Shavuot, the threshold of Revelation.
Tomorrow we celebrate the moment at Sinai when our people received Torah—but in the Reform Jewish understanding, that moment is not frozen in time. Revelation is ongoing. It is heard again in every generation through learning, questioning, wrestling, and choosing how we live our values in the world today.
Shavuot invites us to stay awake—literally and spiritually—to the possibility that Torah is still being revealed through our study, our relationships, and our pursuit of justice and compassion.
Tradition holds that we prepare for this moment by learning through the night (Tikkun Leil Shavuot), symbolizing our commitment to engage deeply with wisdom and never let it grow distant.
May this festival awaken something new in each of us: curiosity, purpose, and a renewed sense of covenant.
