📐 UrbanWorks, Ltd. Architectural Associate / Public Relations Associate Sofia Linares was chosen to inaugurate the Instagram Takeover member spotlight this Wednesday, Nov. 20! 🌟 The first in the series, follow Sofia on a day in her architectural life through AIA Illinois' Instagram Stories.

"I'm an AIA member because of the community," said Sofia. "AIA has so many resources and a wide network. I saw that it was important for me to join at the early stages of my career to take full advantage."

As part of UrbanWorks’ 30th anniversary celebrations, we are featuring 30 projects from over the years that highlight our breadth of experience and passion for the built environment!

The two-story, 43,000-square-foot facility at South California and West 47th Place in Brighton Park, Chicago, offers enhanced medical, behavioral health, senior programs, and a family medicine residency for community-based Esperanza. Covering a full city block, it features a civic plaza with an existing facility to the north. Its vibrant design showcases yellow aluminum panels, contrasting with ribbed metal rainscreens and glass. These panels prominently mark the building’s second floor and indicate the main entrance, giving the structure a dynamic feel. The building offers spaces for community health, education, and recreation, enhancing the complex’s services.

UrbanWorks is pleased to announce that it has received two 2022 ALA Design Awards! The Rauner Family Veteran Studios (with clients A Safe Haven/KMA Property Management) won an ALA Merit Award, and UrbanWorks and Legat Architect’s design for the John Hancock College Prep High School (with clients KR Miller/All Masonry JV for CPS/PBC) won an ALA Silver Award.
