Every step toward rebuilding Syria’s healthcare system is made possible through the generosity of those who believe in its future.

As part of MedGlobal’s Syria Recovery Initiative, Dr. Zaher Sahloul recognizes the donors whose generosity is helping restore healthcare services and expand access to quality care for patients across Syria.

To everyone who has contributed to this effort: thank you for standing with Syria’s recovery and helping rebuild hope through healthcare.

For decades, conflict left Syria’s healthcare system without the resources it needed to meet the country’s growing medical needs. Today, that story is beginning to change.

Through the Syria Health Recovery Initiative, MedGlobal and a global network of Syrian doctors have helped transform care at Homs University Hospital—launching a specialized Stroke Unit, expanding advanced cardiac care and training, strengthening mental health services for survivors of torture, and investing in the next generation of Syrian healthcare professionals.

These are not just new departments. They are life-changing services that are giving patients access to care that was once unavailable, restoring hope for families, and helping rebuild the future of healthcare in Syria.

This milestone was only possible because of the generosity of our donors, the dedication of Syrian medical professionals at home and abroad, and the commitment of everyone who believed that Syria’s recovery starts with a stronger health system.

To every donor who helped make this possible: thank you. Your support is creating lasting change that will benefit communities for years to come.

“I was so happy. I was over the moon with joy.”

For families across Syria, timely access to specialized medical care can mean the difference between continued suffering and the chance to recover.

We are proud to announce the launch of Shifa Campaign 4, implemented in partnership with Shifa Medical Team. Over the coming weeks, more than 150 expatriate Syrian doctors will work alongside local medical teams to provide approximately 1,000 free specialized surgeries for patients who have been waiting months—and in some cases years—for treatment.

On the campaign’s first day alone, six children underwent successful cardiac catheterization procedures in Damascus. For their families, it was the moment they had been waiting for.

But many more patients are still waiting. The campaign runs through August 28 and urgently needs $100,000 to provide the essential medical supplies needed to continue delivering free surgical care to vulnerable patients across Syria.
