K9s 4 Mobility
Service dog Richard and his partner Chris are getting out and practicing balance in different environments and around plenty of distractions. For a dog to provide stability to someone, they need to stay focused and match their pace to their handler. The handler, in turn, should give clear direction and offer rewards for a job well done.

PUPPIES!!! Our three trainees, Compass, Banks, and Kyle, are growing and learning every day! Our newest little one isn’t quite ready to leave his litter yet, but he’ll be arriving after July 4th. We’re on the lookout for a full- or part-time puppy raiser for this adorable male black lab. We’ve had several pups from this breeder, and they’ve been amazing—almost all are now working as Assistance dogs. Banks and Compass just passed their hip x-rays, and we’re thrilled they’re structurally sound to continue their journey toward becoming Assistance dogs.

Service dog Richard and his partner Chris have been out to the hair salon, a doctor’s appointment, and church. They’re learning to navigate safely together, handle various distractions, and speak up for the space they need to feel comfortable.

Service dog Richard and Chris continue working on grooming, spending quiet time together, and practicing all the commands they use to communicate. Chris also gives Richard some alone time in his spacious crate, complete with a cooling mat and toys. It’s important for both to take breaks from each other to recharge and refocus daily. Trainers teach clients how to read their dog’s cues to keep them happy and healthy. Some days, Richard might need playtime or a bone to chew on; other days, he may just want some cuddle time.
