Mini Session, anyone?

What a week it has been. I’ve looked at photos I’ve had for years with new appreciation for the memories preserved-many before I was even born. This photo -one of my grandparents and my grandmother’s siblings- has always intrigued me for a plethora of reasons: the scalloped edges and date, the candid smiles, the relaxed and impromptu feel of everyone gathered on the couch. And yet, this photo was probably a big deal.
My grandmother and her siblings sadly spent much of their childhood in a girl’s and boy’s home. They didn’t have parents capturing every achievement on their iPhone or posting their latest accomplishments on social media. But they made sure nobody was left out of this picture.
Pictures used to be such a big deal…. And as I look through each one, familiar faces remind me why they still are such a big deal. Pictures like these are my “why,” and I’d love you to comment with a picture that is yours!
