5 Years Later, and our 1st AMA record still stands.
1000cc / P-CG / 119.303mph / Gatewood, C / Harley-Davidson

Just read the new 2017 AMA Supplemental Regulations,
and looked in the records chapter. :-)

Who will show up at Bonneville this year
to try and beat that record.
We'll find out this coming August.

VALVE TRAIN WEIGHT......
What helps our HDR XG750LSR engine rev high? Perhaps an Apples to Oranges comparison, but still interesting. 2 intake & 2 exhaust valves (Titanium), 86.9 grams. 1 Shovelhead intake valve (steel) 106 grams.

Dateline - winter of 2013 - After we first spoke with Kris Schoonover in Milwaukee regarding our proposed sponsorship by Harley-Davidson Motor Co. which included a new motorcycle a bit of time passed before our next meeting. So, I decided to send along this photo saying how we had ordered the handlebars, and one could see we just needed a few more items to complete our original XG500 race bike. HA! Thanks again Kris, it all turned out good.

Bonneville was still fun even though HDR didn't have a horse in the show. Clayton (on left) rode his Harley from Wisconsin to Bonneville to spend the week, and help out wherever needed with Jody Anderson (center) and his S&S BIG inch XL that went 198+ MPH. Hoosier Daddy on the right worked as AMA/F.I.M. technical steward and had the grateful job of measuring this engine after an AMA record was set. Bike was originally built by Tom "Santa Claus" Anderson (yellow shirt) who is the founder of Buell Brothers Racing, and is now tuned by Big Jan Smith (tallest of us all).
Congrats to Jody, and the whole S&S team! :-)
