During my recent visit to the Fotografiska Photography Museum in Manhattan I was very impressed by the work of the war photographer James Nachtwey. Also found the concept of mapping the history of the black woman’s body by Aindrea Emelife inspirational for my own photography project of "African Queens". The atmosphere of the museum was so inspiring that I took a few shots myself - e.g. this still life in front of a picture of the transgender photographer Laurence Philomene.
