R.J. Liebe Athletic Lettering Co.

As we celebrate our 100th anniversary, we mourn the loss of one of our key leaders, Robert James “Jim” Liebe. Jim died peacefully in Orlando, Florida on December 23, 2022 at the age of 89.

Jim led the family on field uniform decorating business for over 40 years. His inquisitive nature led to several cutting-edge advancements and innovations, reflected in several patents that he held throughout the years. He was named the “Guru of the Athletic Lettering Industry” by The Sporting News for being the first in the industry to apply team identifications without sewing.

Jim retired thirty years ago, leaving the family business to his children. In 2023, this third generation of leadership will seek to shepherd his legacy through the centennial of the founding of R.J. Liebe Athletic Lettering Co.
