Today Hilltown Ambulance was dispatched to the town of Chester for an individual with a serious leg injury. Prior to the arrival of Hilltown paramedics both Chester-Blandford Police Department and Chester Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene within minutes of the 911 call being placed. Without hesitation a tourniquet was placed by first responders on scene. This act without a doubt saved the life of the patient who is experiencing an arterial bleed. Thankfully, because of the intervention provided by first responders on scene, there was a positive outcome.

Yesterday before 7:00pm, our Station 2 was broken into and several items were stolen out of Engine 2. The list of items are:

Amkus cordless cutters
Amkus cordless spreaders
Extended reach tips for the spreaders
One Pelican flashlight
One Bullard thermal imaging camera
One Pi-lite
Dewalt cordless drill, impact driver, grinder

Hilltown Community Ambulance Association was kind enough to bring an ambulance up and give us a tour of their equipment on board!

It’s that time of the year to fill pools! Yes, we do that for a small donation. It is great training and helps support our community!

One important water source are the hydrants and it is important to practice tagging them. It was also a good time to practice hose handling and nozzle management as well!

We’ve been keeping a little secret. 🙈Chester Fire has a new chiefs car! This truck will suite our needs very well for many years to come!

Chester Fire remembering those who gave it all on Memorial Day.

At approximately 21:20 on May 23, Chester Fire was dispatched to a garage fire. Mutual aid from Hilltown Community Ambulance Association Huntington Fire Department MA and Russell Fire Department were called as well. No one was hurt during the incident and the building was saved with damage to the D side.
