What’s our idea of a great day? Giving tours! ✨ We were thrilled to welcome Michelle Wren, Executive Director of the Portsmouth Partnership, for a behind-the-scenes tour. It was a pleasure to share our operations, connect on community initiatives, and showcase the work happening here every day.
TFC Recycling is a local, family owned and operated business founded in 1973. Our Materials Recovery Facility has and continues to utilize AI sorting technology, mechanical screens, multiple magnets and pneumatic air jets to effectively and efficiently sort out curbside recyclables. Paper, bottles and cans, including glass, all get recycled back into new products. This keeps more materials out of our local landfills.

A big shoutout to artist Myke Irving for creating our beautiful heron statue! You can spot it at Locks Park between the Great Bridge Bridge and the Great Bridge Locks.
Our support of GoChesapeake’s Virginia Water Tourism initiative allows the heron to have a nice home in the Blue Heron Waterway Gallery—the only known waterway gallery in the U.S.!
