Today Norfolk officially becomes a Home Port for a cruise line for the very first time! 🌊⚓

With 150,000 guests annually setting sail on six- to eight-day cruises, Norfolk is now the gateway to destinations across the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Eastern Caribbean. ☀️🏝️

Tomorrow the Carnival Sunshine will arrive at her new home port of Norfolk and sail on her inaugural 5 day cruise from there. She looks magnificent having received complete refurbishment of the water park, rope course, mini golf, jogging track & all open decks synthetic floor. New cardio machines add to guest gym, making it one of the best in the fleet. Motion lights added to all guest cabins. Casino upgrades have been added with new host desk on the promenade deck.
This along with all the usual maintenance and upkeep pf a dry dock means Carnival Sunshine looks absolutely fabulous.

I have had some of you write to me who are sailing from Norfolk for the first time. Some have asked about hotel recommendations for pre cruise stays , some about parking and other general Norfolk questions. So if you have in the past sailed from Norfolk, Virginia please share your comments below and thank you for helping others once again.
