It's been a HOT summer! I had a busy morning, and by the time I got a chance to give Charlie a chance to run around, he overheated quickly.
This is what a HOT dog looks like. His tongue is long, wide, and starting to curl. He's panting very quickly. He wasn't moving as quickly for ball.
This is NOT heat exhaustion yet. It could have become heat exhaustion if I wasn't careful.
Here's what I did...got him wet all over, encouraged him to keep drinking water, kept him in the shade while I finished watering, stopped throwing his ball, and when I was finished working in my flowers went into the air-conditioning.

Check out my blog post (in the comments) to learn more about what heat exhaustion and heat stroke look like, how to treat it, and how to prevent it.
