The Soldiers’ Home is an important part of our district and our community.
Based on recent conversations around the redevelopment, the plan is for current veteran residents to remain, and for future veteran applicants to receive priority for new units.
Our veterans deserve stability, respect, and to remain at the center of every step in this process.

El Hogar de Veteranos es una parte importante de nuestro distrito y de nuestra comunidad.
Según conversaciones recientes sobre la remodelación, el plan es que los veteranos que actualmente residen allí permanezcan, y que los futuros solicitantes veteranos tengan prioridad para las nuevas unidades.
Nuestros veteranos merecen estabilidad, respeto y estar en el centro de cada paso de este proceso.

It’s Black History Month, and I want to personally thank the CBC and the Chelsea Cultural Council for bringing together such a meaningful series of events for our community. A special shoutout to all the collaborators as well—Chelsea Public Schools, Chelsea Public Library, and Verb Flow & Vision. I’m really looking forward to learning, connecting, and being part of such an enriching experience. 🖤✨

Over the weekend I had an amazing time at a beautiful showing at Teatro Chelsea, written and directed by Armando Rivera. Thank you so much for the invite! Featuring an all–Puerto Rican cast, the play is a powerful tribute to Puerto Rican pride, culture, and history—so much of which is often overlooked or untaught. I highly recommend attending; this upcoming week is the final showing of The Beautiful Land I Seek. Please, please go check it out.

Durante el fin de semana pasé un tiempo increíble en una hermosa presentación en el Teatro Chelsea, escrita y dirigida por Armando Rivera. Con un elenco completamente puertorriqueño, la obra es un poderoso tributo al orgullo, la cultura y la historia puertorriqueña —mucho de lo cual suele pasarse por alto o no enseñarse. Recomiendo muchísimo asistir; esta próxima semana será la última presentación de The Beautiful Land I Seek.
