The Tomorrow Building

We’re continuing our Exploring Downtown series with a closer look at the historic Tomorrow Building.

Originally built in 1888, this iconic structure first operated as the Delmonico Hotel before reopening as the Ross Hotel in 1925. After the hotel eventually closed, only the ground floor remained active. Even so, the building continued to play an important role in downtown’s story. Over the years, it has been home to beloved local spots like Edmund’s Restaurant, the legendary Yesterday’s bar, and Midtown Music Hall.

Today, the space has been thoughtfully reimagined as the Tomorrow Building. Led by Lamp Post Properties, this 39-unit micro-apartment development is the first co-living residence of its kind in the Southeast. The building also features ground-floor tenants, including Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint and Attack of the Tatsu.

Designed with remote workers, contract professionals, and entrepreneurs in mind, the Tomorrow Building offers fully furnished units along with shared kitchens, lounge areas, and bike storage. It is ideal for six-month stays and easy, hassle-free living in the heart of downtown.
