Rotary Rocks Chattanooga is proud to support our local firefighters in their Elder Care Bag Drive. Our club collected essential everyday items including trash bags, soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, and toilet paper to help meet the needs of senior citizens in our area.

A special thank you to Chappell Fowler for spearheading this effort, collecting donations, and rallying support from local businesses and neighborhood associations. Her dedication helped make this project a tremendous success.

This service project is a wonderful example of neighbors helping neighbors and organizations working together to care for some of our most vulnerable community members. We are grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make a meaningful difference in the lives of local seniors. Together, Rotary Rocks Chattanooga continues to show the power of service above self.

Rotary Rocks Chattanooga: Catching Up!

The past few weeks have been packed with inspiration and leadership at Rotary Rocks Chattanooga!

We were thrilled to welcome Amber Beason, Director of Development at Skyuka Hall School, who shared the incredible story of the school’s mission to empower students with learning differences through personalized education and leadership development. Amber also introduced us to Clover Devila, the student we are proud to sponsor for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) this September. We’re also excited to be exploring the possibility of launching an Interact Club at Skyuka Hall to expand service opportunities for students.

We also hosted a fantastic Rotaract Round-Up with our own Emerie Shontz, Lane Gutridge, and David Serodino. They shared the history, accomplishments, growth, and future vision of their Rotaract club, highlighting service projects, membership development, and plans for strengthening the connection between Rotaract and Rotary. Their passion for service and leadership was contagious!

From investing in future leaders to building stronger Rotary connections, these programs reminded us why Rotary continues to make a difference—one leader, one project, and one partnership at a time. 💜🎸

This Tuesday’s meeting turned into a true Rotary “all-star lineup!”

We were honored to welcome District Governor David Carroll, District Governor-Elect Deb Birdsall, and District Governor Nominee Elect Frank Hughes.
If you think a district governor visit is all formal speeches and nervous introductions, think again.
Deb captivated the room with her heartfelt message about compassion, connection, and remembering that Rotary is ultimately about people caring for people. It became clear that what makes our Rotary clubs special isn’t just what we do—it’s how deeply we care about one another.

Her vision for the coming year is genuine, inspiring, and rooted in service, friendship, and hope. By the end of the evening, there was no doubt that she is going to lead with both heart and purpose.
So, Rotarians across the district, consider this your friendly warning: when Deb comes to visit, be ready. Bring your passion! She has a way of reminding us why we joined Rotary in the first place—and why it matters.

The future of our district is in very good hands. Rotary magic? We think we got a preview Tuesday night. ✨ Rotary Rocks! 🎸🔶

🎉🌟 Rotary Rocks Chattanooga Continues to Grow! 🌟🎉

We are thrilled to welcome two outstanding new members to Rotary Rocks Chattanooga: Courtenay Cholovich and Jill Greblick! 💙💛

👏 Jill has already stepped forward to serve on our Sergeant-at-arms Team, helping us continue to grow our club and expand our impact throughout the community.

🎒 Courtenay has hit the ground running by helping support a partnership among Rotary clubs and Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise to purchase and stuff backpacks with school supplies for students in the Oak Grove community this July. What an incredible way to begin her Rotary journey!

✨ We are truly fortunate to have gained two enthusiastic, service-minded members who are already making a difference. Their energy, ideas, and commitment to Service Above Self will help Rotary Rocks Chattanooga continue to thrive and serve our community.

🎉 In other Rotary Rocks Chattanooga news… we’ve been BUSY doing good and celebrating BIG! 🎉

🏆 HUGE shoutout to Mari for WINNING the award for bringing the MOST GUESTS to a Rotary meeting! 👏

Mari clearly understood the assignment:
“Bring a friend.”
…and said,
“How about ALL OF THEM?” 😂

Also, a big round of applause for:
✨ Macy Fleenor
✨ Christina Albert

Both were recognized for achieving ⭐ PAUL HARRIS FELLOW ⭐ status!

So what does that mean?
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is awarded to Rotarians and supporters who contribute — or have contributions made in their honor — to the The Rotary Foundation. Those gifts help fund life-changing projects around the world involving:
🌍 Clean water
💉 Disease prevention
📚 Education
🕊️ Peacebuilding
👩‍👧 Supporting women and families
…and so much more.

And here’s the really exciting part… 👀

💙 Our club has achieved 100% Foundation participation! 💙

That means EVERY member of Rotary Rocks Chattanooga has contributed to the Rotary Foundation — proving that even a newer club can make a GLOBAL impact.

Now members are slowly receiving their official certificates and pins… and let’s be honest… Rotarians LOVE a good pin moment. 😂📍

Service above self… but also slightly about the accessories. 😉✨
