I had a great time sitting down with Emily Sewell and The Creative (de)Brief to talk about taking the leap into contract design work while becoming mom and weighing those career risks and rewards.

We dive deep into the challenges of being a working parent, the ways I am working on finding balance, and touch on toxic work environments and leadership qualities that apply to any working professional, not just those with kiddos.

With some luck, and a lot of trust in myself and what I know I can bring to the table, I have been thankful to find myself in this current career chapter of my life - embracing the unknown, living in my moment, tackling incredible creative opportunities... all while being available for my family.

Is it hard some days? Yes. But you can do hard things.

All that to say, when I’m designing for my daughters THREE-Rex birthday bash all bets are off and we have “Yard Dinos” and “Table Dinos” to organize and file the Jurass-tic (badum-ch) amount of files I’m making & fun I’m having with this years theme of RAINBOW DINOSAURS.
