Yesterday was a bittersweet day for me at the studio. I put the final touches on the last 3 projects I had remaining in the pipeline. After nearly 8 years of faithfully serving hundreds of amazing customers from all over the world, the time has come for a much needed break. My wife and I welcomed our first child, Ruby, in May, and in the current season of my life it's become increasingly clear that I need to be able to devote more time to my family than I can while working as hard as I currently do in the studio. I love producing music, and I have learned so much working with so many great people over these past few years. I'm proud to say that some of my absolute best work as a producer has happened during these most recent exceptionally chaotic months. But I'm exhausted from the music industry grind, and overdue for a season of rest and realigning priorities. I'm so excited for the chance to spend more time with my wife and daughter and friends!

What's next for BackBeat Sound Design?
I'd be lying if I said I had it all figured out. Right now my plan is to take a few months off from studio work and simply rest. I still have a passion for making music, so when the time feels right I'll most likely jump back into the studio with more limited hours than before. I don't think BackBeat's story is over - it just needs an intermission.
