Trauma and Addiction Recovery Center
In some ways, shame can really be the root of all evil.😞
It stops us from admitting what's hurting, from asking for helping, and from believing that we deserve help. The thinking goes, if my problematic s*xual or relationship behaviors are just part and parcel of my terrible character, then I desrve to keep having them. I deserve the pain I am causing myself (not to mention the pain I'm causing others).
At TARC, we want to be RIGOROUS in affirm to our community the following messages:
💡 You are responsible for mitigating and treating your addictions once you see them (and that is no small labor!)
💡 But NO, you did not *cause* your body to have an addiction and therefore,
💡 You deserve as happy, productive, and fulfilling a life as people who aren't addicted.
💡 It's not just about you: whole communities benefit when an addict says "I am worth getting better."
Check out our micro video below where we review some basic facts about addiction. If you are ready to start healing, please reach out to us now via Facebook messenger or at TarcRecovery.com.
