OLPHToday's Gospel invites us to consider what truly belongs to God. We can fulfill our responsibilities in the world while remembering that everything we have ultimately comes from Him.
⁣
May we repay what belongs to God, through the way we love, serve, forgive, encourage, and care for others.

October 19-25 is National Estate Planning Week! Did you know that over 60% of American adults don't have an up-to-date will?
⁣
Creating an estate plan is an act of Catholic stewardship. It allows you to protect your loved ones today and share your blessings with the next generation.
⁣
By including a legacy gift to OLPH n your will, you’ll return a portion of your blessings to the Lord and help sustain the ministries that serve our community.

Today, the Church celebrates one of her earliest martyrs. St. Ignatius of Antioch was the Patriarch of Antioch, and died in Rome. Oral and written traditions indicate he was either a direct disciple of St. John the Apostle or the disciple of John through a connection to St. Polycarp. When we read Ignatius' letters, there is a strong sense that he knows who he is in Christ Jesus, and what his role is. He's a great example of an early bishop who did his best to "hold fast to the traditions" that were passed onto him, "whether by word of mouth or by letter." -2 Thessalonians 2:15. May we do the same here at OLPH
