Faster Glass

To innovate our way through disruption, it's not enough that we rethink our individual assumptions and beliefs. We also need to be able to influence others to unlearn and rethink. Easier said than done, but there are some research-based techniques we can employ to nudge others beyond entrenched positions.
That's the focus of the Oct. 15th Forward Faster by Design virtual session. We'll look at tactics that DON'T work as well as approaches that have been proven to move people to reconsider their views. Click on the link to register.

How much time, money, and energy do we waste solving the wrong problems? As if that weren't bad enough, it's incredibly demoralizing for everyone involved to build a great bridge only to discover it's over the wrong river. But what if we could get better at identifying the right problems to solve?
We'll explore these questions and more at our next Forward Faster by Design event on Nov. 13th. We'll dig into some of the factors, like problem blindness, prior knowledge, and anchoring bias, that influence how we define the challenges we face. We'll also share specific techniques for framing (or reframing) problems more effectively so we can better invest our most precious resources in service of the people, organizations, and communities we care about.

Imagine someone who has only ever ridden a single-gear bicycle. Until one day, they're given a new 24-speed bike. Exciting, yes! Except they're not aware of the additional capabilities of their new ride, so they continue on as they had before with one gear. They're satisfied but completely oblivious to how much farther and faster they could have traveled with less effort.
The same could be said for us when we don't utilize visual thinking in our collaboration efforts. We over-rely on words, which causes us to unknowingly work far below our innate human capabilities. So how might we break our old habits to embrace a better way of collaborating, especially now that so many of us are having to work remotely?
That's the first topic of the new Faster Glass virtual series, GSD Differently. Join us on Thursday, Sep. 3rd, from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM for an interactive workshop filled with visual collaboration tips and tools you can immediately apply to your team, organization, or community.
