An estate plan created years ago may describe a financial life that no longer exists.

A growing business, investment property, or larger retirement account can introduce new tax concerns and place greater responsibility on the people selected to manage the plan. Beneficiary needs may have changed as well.

Updates should connect three areas:

- How each asset will transfer
- Who can manage finances during incapacity
- How beneficiaries will receive and use their inheritance

Reviewing the full plan after substantial financial growth can reveal where old instructions no longer support current goals.

September 11, 2001 remains a day of grief, courage, loss, and service.

Today, we remember the lives taken, the families who still mourn, the responders who ran toward danger, and the communities forever changed.

May remembrance lead us toward patience and empathy for one another.
