“Work the problem.”

It’s one of the most repeated phrases by our instructors, and for good reason: It’s part of the job description of being an engineer! This phrase applies even more to the 1st pillar of : Universal Energy Access.

It’s a challenge where one size does NOT fit all, where the constraints on the ground in one location are completely different from those in another. So how do you solve a problem like this?

You don’t just build engineers. You create next-gen problem solvers.

In MEGR 3261, one of the ways we do this is a final project where the students are asked to design a system based on what they have learned over the semester. Utilizing cutting-edge technology developed here at , the students can build and test their systems to see how they would stack up against real world demand.

Check back here near the end of the semester, and we’ll have an update on how they did!

Part of building the of tomorrow means that it must be sustainable given a wide variety of factors. But what does “sustainable energy” really mean?

This month, we are going to take you behind the curtain to one of our Energy Concentration courses, MEGR 3261. In this course, we teach our of tomorrow not only what is, but how to build an energy generation & delivery system based on the concept.
