In one of the hardest seasons of my life, I prayed for God’s help. My willpower wasn’t at its best, and I wanted an easy fix—like one of those weight-loss wonder drugs I saw everyone talking about and saw the magic that helped many people. My doctor wouldn’t prescribe it, and I was frustrated and wanted the magical quick fix!
Not long after, I became sick. Scary tests, the word biopsy, and so much waiting. Thankfully, it wasn’t the C-word—but my condition slowed my digestion and gave me the same “always full” feeling those drugs create. I lost 23 pounds in 3 weeks, but it came with nausea, swelling, intense pain and fear.
The lesson? God did answer my prayer—but not in the way I expected. Be very clear in your prayers, because His answers may come differently than you imagine.
Losing weight was a silver lining through the lesson.
