Introducing our new rhythm guitarist, Dave Gray!

Born in Harrisburg PA and raised in Pittsburgh, David Gray is a self-taught guitarist who has played for over 35 years. Initially influenced by jazz musician George Benson and soul guitarist Prince, he began gravitating towards rock and metal after he was introduced to the music of Slash, Vernon Reid, and Metallica. By the time he was sixteen, Dave was teaching himself to play Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, Pantera, and Iron Maiden, and eventually wanted to play even faster and heavier music. Eventually, he discovered bands such as Morbid Angel, Pestilence, Nocturnus, and Obituary.

At the age of eighteen, Dave took a hiatus from playing guitar seriously and began performing and producing hip hop music, establishing the underground label "Blak Beast Producshunz." He released 7 projects and performed with artists like Chuck D of Public Enemy, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Bronze Nazareth of Wu Tang Clan fame. The music was dark, and he often incorporated elements of metal, whether it be heavy guitars, or overall aura of the sound. After making a name on Pittsburgh's local music scene for over two decades, Dave felt it was time to return to his roots as a guitarist and challenge himself to play heavy music in a band. In 2019, he recorded and produced a four-song demo under the name "Failure of Compliance." After playing briefly with Gastonia doom-metal band EvilLeaf, Dave was scouted by Shadows Prevail lead guitarist Maurice Francis, and he auditioned for the band.
