When you hit your upper limit, your mind loves to grab the same old reaction off the shelf – the one that feels weirdly comfortable, even if you hate it. Part of this is because these feelings we have living inside of us need to be aired out, and when goodness happens and we can finally RELAX, we start to let these parts of us come out.
🍀Some people pick anger as the part to air out– picking fights, snapping at tiny stuff, blowing up when they’re secretly scared.
🍀Others reach for anxiety – overthinking, spinning out, imagining worst-case scenarios that NEVER happen.
🍀And some? They just shut down – go numb, ghost everyone, or detach so they don’t feel anything at all.
