Today Mrs. Gartner, Ms. McGlone, and Mrs. Benkendorf of our PTO were honored with a lunch provided by Advanced Studies leadership for their work with this year’s IB Night of Culture. This event was one of three “Visibility Challenge” winners across all IB schools in the district. We can’t wait to see how this event evolves and grows over the coming years! 🌎🦁

🚨We need your help! Lansdowne Elementary is collecting new and gently used books to give away as part of our annual Give 5 Read 5 summer reading book swap. We can accept books, juvenile magazines, comics and graphic novels written for Kindergarten to rising 6th grade students. Collection tubs are located outside the front lobby as well as in the Media Center. Materials can be donated Wednesday, May 13th through Wednesday, June 3rd. The giveaway will be on Thursday, June 4th for 5th grade and Friday, June 5th for all other grades.

Students’ reading levels decline over the summer if they do not read. Research has shown that reading just 5 books over the summer can prevent this decline.

📚Our goal is to collect 3,000 books and magazines in order to provide every student with 5 items to read over the summer break. We respectfully request no board books or books of a religious nature.
