Birding by Boat

Cypress Wetlands in Port Royal, SC, is a free bird sanctuary and nature preserve featuring a bald cypress swamp, a large lake, and a duck pond, connected by a boardwalk and nature trail. It’s a popular spot for birdwatching, wildlife viewing (including alligators, turtles, and various bird species), and nature photography, with educational signage and a “Kids in Parks” TRACK Trail. The area is managed as part of the town’s stormwater system and offers a unique Lowcountry experience with nearby food and drink options.
