On January 28, Woodrow Wilson signed into law the Coast Guard Act of 1915, creating the U.S. Coast Guard as it is today. Originally established as the Revenue Marine Service in 1790 by my guy, Alexander Hamilton, it transformed over the years to finally become the USCG that we know and love.
