๐ฟ๐ฌ Nature + Science = Learning Through Play! ๐ฌ๐ฟ
To some, it may look like children are simply playing on the playground. But at C.A.R.E. Academy, play is where some of the best learning happens!
Today our little scientists explored the natural world around them by collecting, sorting, scooping, pouring, sifting, and investigating materials they discovered outdoors. As they worked together, they asked questions, made observations, solved problems, and tested ideasโall important early science skills.
Outdoor play isn't just about running and climbing. It's about curiosity. It's about discovering how things work. It's about teamwork, communication, and learning to think critically.
From examining wood chips and soil to experimenting with different tools and containers, our children were engaged in hands-on learning that supports: ๐ Scientific inquiry and observation
๐ Fine motor development
๐ Problem-solving and critical thinking
๐ Cooperation and social skills
๐ A connection to the natural world
This is what playground learning looks likeโchildren leading their own discoveries, exploring their environment, and building a lifelong love for learning one scoop at a time. โค๏ธ

๐๐ฅ Farm Life Has Arrived at C.A.R.E. Academy! ๐๐พ
We are not playing around with this Farm Theme! Our Two's and Three's have brought the farm right into the classroom as they take turns milking a cow and experiencing a hands-on look at life on the farm.
While it may look like fun (and it definitely is!), our children are building important skills aligned with the South Carolina Early Learning Standards:
๐ HPD-5: Fine Motor Skills and Coordination Children are strengthening hand and finger muscles as they squeeze, grasp, and control the "udder" to milk the cow. These skills help prepare little hands for future tasks such as writing, cutting, buttoning, and self-help routines.
๐ CD-11: Cause and Effect As children squeeze the glove, they discover that their actions make the water flow into the bucket. Through this investigation, they are learning that their actions produce results, an important foundation for scientific thinking and problem-solving.
Activities like this encourage curiosity, exploration, persistence, and imaginative play while making learning meaningful and memorable. At C.A.R.E. Academy, we believe children learn best when they can touch, explore, and experience the world around them.
Who knew farm chores could be so much fun? ๐ฅ๐โค๏ธ
