Jenna Perkins is a seasoned attorney and civil mediator with over three decades of legal experience in West Virginia. She represents individuals, businesses, and institutions in complex litigation, family law matters, and mediation. Known for her courtroom acumen and thoughtful dispute resolution, Ms. Perkins has built a distinguished career spanning private practice, public service, and judicial appointment.

Ms. Perkins joined Kay Casto & Chaney's Morgantown office in March of 2026, bringing substantial expertise in civil litigation, family law, mediation, and trial work in both state and federal courts.

Newest state Supreme Court justice formally sworn in Monday at Capitol Justice Thomas H. Ewing of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia was formally sworn in Monday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2025, at the state Capitol.

Welcome, Mary Kathryn Kay!

Mary Kathryn Kay is an associate attorney in the Charleston office of Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC, where she focuses on estates and trusts as well as commercial litigation and transactions. She brings valuable experience from her clerkship with the Honorable Robert B. King of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, where she gained deep insight into complex federal appellate matters.

A graduate of West Virginia University College of Law, Mary Kathryn ranked in the top 20 of her class and served as Executive Editor of the West Virginia Law Review. Her background includes legal internships with prominent West Virginia firms and hands-on appellate work through the United States Supreme Court Clinic.

She is admitted to practice in West Virginia, the Southern District of West Virginia, and the Fourth Circuit.
