Heat index values around 105 are expected from 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Wednesday across portions of north central and western Maryland, northwest and western Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia. Hot, humid conditions can cause heat illnesses. Limit outdoor time and drink plenty of water.

Heat index values up to 100 are expected from noon to 8 PM EDT Wednesday across portions of east central Ohio, northwest, southwest, and western Pennsylvania, and northern and the northern panhandle of West Virginia. Hot, humid conditions may cause heat illnesses. Slow down, take breaks, and drink plenty of water.

Flash Flood Warning until 9:15 PM EDT for southeastern Mingo County, WV. Doppler radar shows thunderstorms with heavy rain, 1.5 to 2 inches, causing flash flooding. Flooding may hit small creeks, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and low-lying spots. Turn around, don’t drown, and avoid flooded roads and underpasses.
