That’s how many children whose parents WANT them in a structured summer program — but who won’t get one this summer.

The new America After 3PM report just confirmed what we see every day at Kids On Point: families across the country are desperate for safe, engaging, affordable summer programs for their kids. And half of those families are being told “no” — by cost, by waitlists, by a system that hasn’t kept up.

Summer adds up to about 3 full years of a child’s K–12 life. That’s 3 years of possibility. 3 years of skill-building. 3 years that shouldn’t be lost.
