To say the boys got after it this week would be an understatement! The crew transited all the way to Myrtle Beach to take care of aids to navigation in the most northern reaches of the ANVIL’s area of responsibility.

ANVIL took care of 2 major aids, marking dangerous rocks in a high traffic boating channel as well as resetting a discrepant large buoy. Traversing 250 miles overall!

With this time underway, the crew was getting qualified. Congratulations to:
MK2 Meeks for becoming CDS qualified!
DC2 Schell for becoming EOW qualified!
BM3 Hull for becoming Rigger qualified!

Discrepancies don’t stand a chance!
The ANVIL transited 350 nautical miles this trip in only 10 days, working 21 in total aids to navigation rain or shine, 12 of these in a neighboring units AOR. And the boys got it done when the gettin was good, they completed the following training:

Deck watch Officer
Construction Deck Rigger
U/W Engineer of the Watch
Spudded OOD
Shipboard look out
Inport OOD

Hard work pays off.
Bravo Zulu boys! Strong work!
