So yesterday, I tried a new to me first: sterilizing grain to be used for inoculation.

I fu**ed up, but fixable and I'll need to keep a close eye 👀 because there is an increased risk of contamination. I used a NSNS (no soak, no simmer) method but I wasn't accurate in scaling down from the quart jar used in the video to the pint jars I actually used. What looked like it would work, didn't. The millet expansion filled the jar almost completely which means I wasn't able to fully disperse the grains with the hot shake method. I'll remove some of the grains while working in a SAB (still air box) prior to innoculation.

But anyways, that's lesson one with grains and I have the pressure canner cooling with a different batch that I trusted measurements this time 😂

Also, last night, I dried my first batch of Lion's Mane. 🍄🦁
