Some stories are harder to tell than others.

Meet Stitch.

She is just a 4-month-old black Lab mix. A baby. A puppy who should have been spending her days chasing toys, taking naps in the sunshine, and learning that the world is a safe place.

Instead, she came to us from one of our rural shelter partners carrying the heartbreaking evidence of a life no puppy should ever know.

The wounds around her neck were caused by an embedded collar. A collar that was left on for far too long as she grew, cutting deeper and deeper into her skin. We don’t know exactly what Stitch’s life looked like before she came to us, but we do know one thing…

She was neglected.

And somehow… she still loves.

She greets every person with a wagging tail. She showers everyone she meets with kisses. She adores other dogs. There isn’t an ounce of bitterness in this sweet girl. Even after everything she’s endured, she continues to trust people with her whole heart.

It’s something we’ll never understand.

Stitch has already seen our veterinarian and is now receiving the medical care she desperately needed. She’s on antibiotics, her wounds are being treated, and for the first time in what was likely her entire life, she is finally safe.

But cases like Stitch’s are expensive.

Medical care, antibiotics, wound treatment, follow-up visits—it all adds up quickly. As a foster-based rescue, every single dog we save depends entirely on the kindness of this community.

Meet Tank, Moose, Dozer, and Hippo—four chunky little boys who somehow look more like baked potatoes than puppies. Seriously… they’re basically fluffy spuds with tiny legs. 🤎

These sweet boys are around a month old and came to us from one of our rural shelter partners after they were found with their mama. Sadly, their mom developed a severe case of mastitis and needed to be separated so she could receive the care she desperately needed. The good news? These little guys are already eating mush on their own and are thriving in foster care!

A huge thank you goes to one of our incredible foster families for stepping up and getting these boys safely out of the shelter. Because of our foster network, puppies like Tank, Moose, Dozer, and Hippo get the chance to grow up somewhere warm, safe, and loved instead of spending these important weeks in a shelter.

They’re sweet, silly, wonderfully chunky, and somehow even more adorable in person than they are in pictures.
