According to the Census Bureau data, 35.3% of mayors in the US are females and only 3% of those are African American. We believe that it's going to take more African American females in leadership positions to bring upon real permanent changes for all African American females.
Congratulations to Karen Bass for becoming the first African American female mayor of Los Angeles.
