One time college, in sociology class our professor asked what’s our biggest fear?
We went around the room, and of course I was last.
All my classmates had deep answers like dying alone, letting down my parents, being a failure….
Me? When they got to me I was honest, and said “the North American grizzly bear” 😆
Bro has you seen one?!
Anyway, it’s something I think about now and then, have a giggle, then realize how unafraid I am
And it does freak me out 😆
What’s your biggest fear?!

1. “What kind of services are you obsessed with?”
This tells you everything.
If they light up talking about lived-in blondes, extensions, or low-maintenance brunettes—you’ve found your match.
If not… keep scrolling. (Insert what services you’re looking for above)
2. “How often will I realistically need to come in?”
Not the fantasy. The truth.
A good stylist will align your hair with your lifestyle—not have you in the chair every 4 weeks if you’re a 12-week girl.
3. “What’s the real cost to maintain this look?”
Not just the first appointment.
Ask about toners, trims, glosses, move-ups, products.
Hot girls budget for the maintenance, not just the moment.
4. “What happens if I hate it?”
Uncomfy but powerful.
You want someone who has a plan, not someone who gets defensive.
Confidence = clear communication + a fix-it mindset.
5. “Will this actually work with my hair?”
Bring the inspo pic… and then let them reality-check it.
Face shape, density, history, extensions—this is where a real pro separates from a Pinterest yes-girl.
Getting your hair done should be a treat, not an anxiety trip.

I used to shrink to fit in.
I’d walk into salons and onto stages feeling powerful…
and then get around other professionals and let myself feel small.
And the worst part?
I believed it.
I let the room decide who I was.
Until I realized
nothing was missing.
I just wasn’t bringing that version of me with me.
All of me.
So I stopped trying to build confidence in new areas…
and started moving like the whole version of me who already had it.
Try this if you’re lacking:
Where do you already feel confident? ✨
And what would happen if you showed up like that everywhere?
