WV Future Leaders Program

Spotlight on FLP Student leader Sergeant Carson Church, as he takes his next step towards an exciting career in Aviation. Carson has enlisted in the Air Force Reserves as an Aerospace Technologist. Carson has been a true leader in East Fairmont High School leading in both Football and Soccer as well being an honor student. Carson will attend the Air Force’s Basic Military Training (BMT) this Summer and plans on attending college in pursuit of an Aerospace Engineering degree. East Fairmont’s Future Leaders Program had it’s beginning this school year of 2026 and is pleased to recognize future leaders such as Carson Church.

Today Tucker County High School FLP took a road trip to Martinsburg, WV to visit the 167th Airlift Wing of the WV Air National Guard! They had a great time touring the base and learning more about America's premier cargo aircraft, the C-17 Globemaster III. The C-17 has a payload of 170,900 pounds and can travel 6,230 nautical miles on a tank of gas with the ability to refuel in flight! Well, technically the plane has more than one tank, but you get the picture. Our very own West Virginian Airmen participate every day in "real world" missions designed to provide humanitarian assistance and to help keep America safe.
