What KC creates
Imagine just casually browsing the thrift store. I had a milk glass bowl and a few glass bowls. Nothing TOO exciting. And then I walked past this! A barristers bookcase.
Gave it a once over. Saw the mechanism for the drawers and knew I had something here. I honestly couldn't get to the counter ask for the price fast enough.
If you thrift long enough, eventually you stumble across one of those finds that makes your heart skip a beat. This was that find for me.
Beautiful wood, original glass doors, and so much character. These bookcases were built to last, and somehow this one ended up waiting for me at the thrift store.
Tell me I'm not the only one who gets ridiculously excited over old furniture. What's the best thing you've ever found while thrifting?
I had a perfectly adorable mushroom lamp.
And then I remembered I have a hot glue gun and an unhealthy obsession with resin flowers. 😂
(By the way- I linked the resin mould I used on this video. Just click that link to get the one I used)
So naturally, I made a bunch of flowers, glued them around the base, heated them with my hairdryer so I could mold them to the curve, wrapped everything up with painter’s tape while they cooled, and waited for the magic to happen.
The verdict? SO much cuter.
At this point, I’m convinced the answer to every crafting question is resin flowers. Need to update something? Resin flowers. Too plain? Resin flowers. Exist in the vicinity of a glue gun? Resin flowers.
Anyone else currently hyper-fixated on one craft supply?
This desk was completely trashed! I got it secondhand years ago and it sat in my garage and acted as a workbench for quite some time. It had seen better days. But can you believe I was able to cut it into two and make it into these gorgeous nightstands? It's amazing what some imagination, some power tools and gorgeous paint will do!
