Funny story time...

Everything was peaceful on Lilac Loop until the Millers installed a tree swing. Within 24 hours, the HOA descended like a flock of clipboard-wielding pigeons, citing “unauthorized airborne recreation.” The swing was labeled a Category 3 Violation—just below graffiti, but above inflatable Santas out of season.

In a panic, Mr. Miller called his cousin Daryl, who once watched two episodes of “Law & Order” and now considers himself a legal expert. Daryl’s strategy? File a “reverse complaint” accusing the HOA president’s lawn gnome of smirking menacingly. Things escalated fast.

Eventually, the Millers brought in an actual pro—someone with a license and pants that matched. The swing was approved (with a permit), the gnome was exonerated, and Daryl was politely asked to stop emailing the board in all caps. Moral?
