In honor of this day, we’re sharing three fun facts about those familiar stars and stripes:

⭐ The current flag was created in 1958 by Robert G. Heft, an Ohio high school student who submitted his design as part of a class project. (He got a B-.) It was eventually chosen by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

⭐ The "Old Glory" nickname for the U.S. flag originated from a sea captain named William Driver, who flew an American flag on his ship that he affectionately referred to as "Old Glory."

⭐ Popular legend says that Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag at the request of George Washington. However, this story is widely regarded as more folklore than fact.

In honor of National Men’s Health Month, we’re sharing four key health facts:

🩺 55% of men don’t get regular health screenings, according to a 2022 Cleveland Clinic study.

🩺 The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services estimates that men are 24% less likely than women to have visited a doctor within the past year.

🩺 Men have an increased risk of certain health concerns, such as heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancer.

🩺 Early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment for many conditions.

With that said, we want to take this opportunity to encourage men in our network to schedule an annual check-up if an appointment is not already on the books.
