America turns 250 this year, which means 250 candles on the cake … so someone should probably alert the fire department.

Over the past several years Juneteenth have gained more awareness across the United States, but many may not know the background. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, to enforce Abraham Lincoln’s order to end slavery in the rebelling state farthest west

It’s been observed as a day to honor this history and celebrate Black culture and resilience, and it officially became a federal holiday in 2021.
