DID YOU KNOW? Saving painted wolves helps save many other African species. As a hugely wide-ranging species, painted wolves are known as an "umbrella species". Protecting their habitat also helps to protect many other animals in the area!

Weapons such as snares - thin wire nooses intended to catch different antelope - are one of the greatest threats to painted wolves, as they are often unintentionally caught in them. Anti-poaching efforts, in particular to remove these snares, are undoubtedly critical to saving painted wolves and many other species. ⁠
